MONCARAPACHO

The village of Moncarapacho is a typical rural hideaway, close to Olhão, Tavira and Faro. The surrounding lands are famed for their fertility, with the cultivation of pomegranate, citrus fruits, figs and vegetables. Many traditional crafts can be found here including the working of leather for horse harnesses and the making of ceramics. A large flower growing organisation is flourishing too. The main church, although small is worth a look as it is both unusual and has a museum next to it with items dating to pre-roman times. This village is less frequented by tourists and provides a hideaway for those wanting a rural location with tradition yet still having easy access to the main tourist areas and attractions of the Algarve. Moncarapacho and surrounding areas are becoming high in demand for superb rural Algarve property puchase.
